Anita Rosati

The soprano Anita Giovanna Rosati, originally from East Tyrol, completed her studies at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna under KS Edith Lienbacher and KS Gabriele Fontana. In 2017, she was a recipient of the Anny Felbermayer Foundation scholarship and a prizewinner of Musica Juventutis.

In the 2015/16 season, she was a member of the Thuringian Opera Studio and made her debut as Papagena at the Deutsches Nationaltheater Weimar, as well as performing the roles of Brigitta in Iolanta by P. Tchaikovsky and Minerva in Il ritorno d’Ulisse in patria by C. Monteverdi at Theater Erfurt.

In 2018, Rosati made her debut at the Theater an der Wien, where she gained early acclaim as Jemmy in Rossini’s Guillaume Tell, conducted by Diego Matheuz and staged by Thorsten Fischer.

Further engagements have taken her to renowned festivals, theatres, and concert halls, including the Bregenz and Salzburg Festivals, Innsbruck Early Music Festival, Wiener Musikverein, Wiener Konzerthaus, MuTh concert hall, Kammeroper Wien, Philharmonie Luxembourg, Opéra national de Lorraine (France), Theater an der Wien, Neue Oper Wien, Liederhalle Stuttgart, Maggyart Festival (Italy), Musikfestspiele Potsdam Sanssouci, Wratislavia Cantans (Poland), and the Rabenhof Theater in Vienna. She has collaborated with conductors such as Marc Albrecht, Stefan Solyom, Peter Leipold, Diego Matheuz, Samuel Bächli, Hannah Eisendle, Bas Wiegers, Alessandro de Marchi, Jörg Halubek, Walter Kobéra, Raphael Schlüsselberg, and Laurent Wagner.


The young soprano has already been nominated twice for the Austrian Music Theatre Award: in 2020 in the category “Best Female Supporting Role” for her performance as the house and schoolgirl in B. Lang’s Der Reigen at the Bregenz Festival with Neue Oper Wien under the baton of Walter Kobéra and directed by Alexandra Liedtke; and in 2022 in the category “Best Young Artist” for the role of Dorillo in B. Pasquini’s opera Idalma at the Innsbruck Early Music Festival under the direction of Alessandro de Marchi and stage direction by Alessandra Premoli.

From 2023 to 2025, Rosati is a member of the ensemble of the Salzburg State Theatre.

She celebrated particular successes at the Felsenreitschule in Salzburg as Sacerdotessa in a new production of Aida under the baton of Leslie Suganandarajah and directed by Andreas Gergen; as ICE in the Austrian premiere of Anthropocene by Stuart MacRae, directed by Agnessa Nefjodov; as Corinna in Rossini’s Il Viaggio a Reims, conducted by Carlo Cimento and staged by Andrea Bernard; and as Gretel in Humperdinck’s Hänsel und Gretel.

In the upcoming spring, she will appear as Colonnella in Salieri’s rarely performed opera Il Mondo alla rovescia. She will also make her debut as Fantasca in an adaptation of Johann Strauss’ operetta Indigo and the 40 Thieves as part of the Viennese Johann Strauss Anniversary Year.

In addition to her opera career, concert and song recitals form a constant part of her repertoire. Highlights include a program at the Wiener Konzerthaus as a Musica Juventutis prizewinner with A. Fröschl at the piano, Händel’s oratorio Israel in Egypt in the Golden Hall of the Musikverein under the direction of Antal Barnás, a recital at the Bank Austria Salon as part of the Liederherbst Festival with Hafez Babashahi at the piano, Dvořák’s Mass in D major, Op. 86 in the Great Hall of the Konzerthaus under H. Ferlesch, and concerts as part of the Trigonale Festival in Klagenfurt.
